       Continuing professional development

To have an annual practising certificate issued each year you must participate in approved continuing professional development activities.

  • If you are registered within a general scope of practice you are required to establish a collegial relationship with a doctor registered within the same or related vocational scope in which you work. Use the Online Register Search facility to find an appropriate ‘colleague’ who works in your area.
  • If you are registered within a vocational scope you must participate in a Council-approved recertification programme.

Council will audit ten percent of the profession each year and review the doctor's CPD activities to ensure compliance.

The policies are contained in the Continuing professional development and recertification (393Kb) booklet.
