Locum tenens in a specialist post


Conditions

The table below outlines the conditions which must be met by the applicant.


 

Criteria

The applicant must…

English

Achieve, or be exempt from achieving, the required score in IELTS Academic Module as defined by Council's English Language testing policy.

Qualifications

Have an approved postgraduate qualification in the branch of medicine in which the doctor wishes to work.

Experience

Have been in active clinical practice (30 hours per week) relevant to the branch of medicine the doctor is applying for, for at least 24 out of the past 36 months.


How long is posting for?

The doctor may work in a specialist post for a maximum period of six months. If the doctor intends to practise in New Zealand beyond this, they must apply for registration via the vocational scope pathway.
