Medical administration
|
Medical administration is administration or management utilising the medical and clinical knowledge, skill, and judgement of a registered medical practitioner, and capable of affecting the health and safety of the public or any person. This may include administering or managing a hospital or other health service, or developing health operational policy, or planning or purchasing health services. Medical administration does not involve diagnosing or treating patients.
Vocational training in New Zealand is administered by the Royal Australasian College of Medical Administrators (RACMA).
We do not currently have a checklist of what qualifications, training and experience is expected of applicants for this vocational scope of practice, but information on medical administration training in New Zealand can be found on the RACMA website at http://www.racma.edu.au.
If you believe that you have qualifications, training and experience in medical administration are likely to be equivalent to or as satisfactory as New Zealand training, please click here for the application form and for more information on the application process.
To see if you meet the requirements for another pathway to registration, return to the registration self assessment checklist and complete the checklist answering no to the question “are you a qualified specialist or do you have a postgraduate qualification“.If you have been able to answer yes to the above questions, please click here for the application form and for more information on the application process. | |
