Your responsibilities |
If you believe a medical colleague may not be fit to practise medicine because of a mental or physical condition, you must notify the Medical Council. Details should be put in writing to the Council Registrar.
This is mandatory if you are a doctor or person in charge of a hospital. |
Change to working conditions |
If the doctor's working conditions are then altered, either voluntarily, or by the employer in response to perceived ill-health, the employer must notify the Registrar. |
Legal liability |
You will not be legally liable for any statements made so long as you act in good faith and with reasonable care. The Medical Council can offer further advice and we can provide a legal opinion about legal liability. | |
