You can search the Medical Council's register to find out whether a doctor or physician associate is currently registered and is able to practise in New Zealand, as well as other public information. 

Approved organisations can also download the full register.
   

Search tips:

• Try searching without a location if you're having issues finding your doctor or physician associate. Not all practitioners have their location within New Zealand published.
• Similarly, try searching without an area of medicine if your doctor or physician associate does not appear in the results as not all practitioners will have a registered specialty.
• You don't need to include the title "Dr" in your search when searching for a doctor.
