Dr Chandru is required to participate in an approved recertification programme relevant to the vocational scope of Orthopaedic Surgery. Dr Chandru may work outside the stated vocational scope in hospital based practice but must do so within a collegial relationship.

Under section 21 of the Health Practitioners Competence Assurance Act 2003:
Effective 11 August 2014: Dr Chandru's general scope of practice is limited to orthopaedic surgery in any medical setting or to other areas of medicine in hospital-based practice only.
