Dr Hyland is required to practise medicine under supervision in the RACP Basic Training (Internal Medicine) training programme.

Conditions
Conditions on scope of practice under Section 69(2)(b) of the Health Practitioners Competence Assurance Act 2003 effective from 28 May 2025:
a. Dr Hyland can only practise medicine in his employment at Te Whatu Ora – Health New Zealand (Auckland City Hospital) and within The Royal Australasian College of Physicians Basic Training (Internal Medicine) programme.
b. Dr Hyland is not to import or sell, or be involved with the importation or selling of, any medications.
c. Dr Hyland is not to prescribe any medications for the use of:
i. bodybuilding (or any activities associated with bodybuilding); and/or
ii. testosterone therapy; and/or
iii. weight loss.
d. Dr Hyland is not to provide medical advice in relation to bodybuilding (or any activities associated with bodybuilding), testosterone therapy and/or weight loss, including in-person or online. -
