For the first time, doctors registered in the general scope who are not enrolled in accredited medical training will be invited to take part, alongside doctors in accredited prevocational and vocational training programmes. Dr Martens is permitted to practise medicine in the position of Fellow in Ophthalmology at Middlemore Hospital and at University of Auckland - Department of Ophthalmology under the primary supervision of Dr Rasha Altaie and the secondary supervision of Dr Julia Escardo-Paton between 01 September 2026 and 30 June 2027.
The purpose of this registration is to enable Dr Martens to complete Council's requirements for registration within the general scope.
