Dr Pybass is required to participate in an approved recertification programme relevant to the vocational scope of Internal Medicine. Dr Pybass may work outside the stated vocational scope in hospital based practice but must do so within a collegial relationship.

Under section 21 of the Health Practitioners Competence Assurance Act 2003:
Effective 18 June 2018: Dr Pybass's vocational scope of practice is limited to general and acute care medicine.

Effective 11 May 2017: Dr Pybass's general scope of practice is limited to internal medicine in any medical setting or to other areas of medicine in hospital-based practice only.
