The Medical Council of New Zealand is working with the Australian Medical Council on the accreditation process for the University of Waikato New Zealand Graduate School of Medicine proposed medical programme.
“The accreditation standards apply to medical programmes in both New Zealand and Australia,” says Council Chair Dr Ken Clark.
“They include requirements for student selection and admission, alongside the curriculum and clinical training.
“Waikato’s proposed programme, including its admission policies, will be assessed against those standards.
Council is not commenting on the details of the assessment while it is underway.
