Mō te tūranga, mōu hoki | About the role and who we’re looking for:

We are expanding our team due to an increase in workload and are seeking a motivated and highly organised individual to join the Council as a Professional Standards Adviser.  This role is part of a high performing and collaborative team that focuses on the Council's obligations to protect the public by ensuring doctors are fit to practise. 

Reporting to a supportive Team Leader, you will be a case manager responsible for a varied and interesting workload covering conduct and competence notifications relating to doctors that are referred to the Council.  You also have the opportunity to identify improvements for the team, as we continuously look to identify smarter ways of working.

This is a busy role, that will offer interesting, varied, and challenging work.  

Ngā āhuatanga angitu | To be successful in the role you will:

  • Have previous case management experience.
  • Have strong verbal and presentation skills.
  • Have excellent relationship management skills.
  • Have well-developed business writing and communication skills.

Experience in a legal or regulatory role is favourable, but not essential.  Also, experience in the health sector or familiarity with the Health Practitioners Competence Assurance Act 2003 would be advantageous.
