This work strengthens Council’s protection of the public and further promotes good prescribing practice. The document is a unifying principles-based approach to prescribing.
Doctors must meet the standards laid out in the Council’s statement on Good Prescribing Practice.
The Principles for Quality and Safe Prescribing Practice are already reflected in our statement on prescribing. Council has therefore not adopted the Principles for Quality and Safe Prescribing Practice as Council standards.
However, the Principles are a helpful resource, particularly for new doctors and IMGs new to New Zealand, that can be read alongside our statement.
